Residencies

Hi,
I was just looking at the websites of the residency programs in the U.S. where XUSOM claims its prior batch of students are now doing residencies (based on the list posted on the website). On the websites of lot of those residency programs, you can actually pull up the list of their current residents with lot of the websites also including the names of the medical schools they attended. I was shocked to find just one website of almost 10 that I looked at which had xavier listed as the medical college. None of the other 9 programs had residents in its current pgy-1 or pgy-2 batches with residents from xavier. In fact only few had residents from other carribean schools. Does this mean that what XUSOM website has listed on its website is a hoax, and just another way to lure new students into their trap???

Please look at the websites of the residency programs listed on xusom's website and see for yourself and correct me if I am wrong. This might be a real eyeopener for all the students at xusom and may need to be discussed with the administration. this might just be the last straw.

were you able to find anything new regarding this matter?

alot of students dont list their schools at their residency's web page. Its a personal preference.

hi is this school approved in all other U.S states (beside California)...

Around 10 states and counting are starting to use the california list

California, Tennessee, Indiana, Denver, New mexico, Mississipi, Texas and a few other ones that I can't remember.

Only Ross and St. george are on the california list.

When you say this, do you mean these are the only schools that can practice in this state? If so, get your facts straight and stop spreading false information. If not, I apologize, but that is how you made it sound. The Caribbean schools (not to mention a few other international schools) that have 50 state approval are:

1) Ross
2) SGU
3) AUC
4) Saba

Sorry I meant to say the carribbean schools I know for sure that are on the list are Ross and SGU but yeah you're right AUC and SABA are on the list too.

no its usually not. they put a basic profile wiuth your name undergrad and med school..what is usually optional is a paragraph you can submit to add on in your profile. but med school is usually liosted in there at many if not most programs

Sorry there captain but Denver is not a state, and Texas does not use the California list.

I heard that several other states are currently using this California list.
