    Question Introduction and question...

    Hello everyone,

I'm currently looking into a few of the Carribean schools(really just AUC because of the tuition and the area). I'm a sophomore at Harvard University's Extension program doing Biology and also doing a degree in Biomedical and Clinical Laboratory Sciences at BU Medical(they offer a research component also). I should also mention I work full time 6 days a week at a computer company and take the classes at night. In addition to just doing clinical volunteer work at local hospitals, what would enhance my application to AUC? I appreciate the responses in advance.

You don't really need to have that much to enhance your application as long as your grades/MCAT are around the average. Get around a 3.0+ and 24+ MCAT and you'll probably be fine

    Thanks for the input.

Thanks, this whole process is challenging. I used to be from Maryland, actually Calvert County... Annapolis is a nice place.

Yes, the process of applying to med school sucks, especially the wait. But it sure is nice once you get that acceptance and don't have to worry about it anymore! Good luck!

Hi, I graduated from a uni. last year with a gpa of 2.65 (psych. mjr) and had about a 3.0 gpa from a comm. college (2 years). Now i'm taking the pre-req's for med. school and have about a year left at a comm. college.. i'm guessing my overall gpa will be in the range of 2.8, and have not taken MCAT. I work full time (outside of medicine), will that count for anything? I'm from Cali and would like to come back here.. I'm wondering what my chances for AUC are (even worth applying?) or possibly some other Caribbean schools? Thanks.

Need a higher than average MCAT score, but it's not unheard of.
