I'm looking for public Central/South American medical universities that accept foreigners without Private Caribbean prices.
I've considered the public universities in Guyana, Costa Rica, Colombia etc...
Could anyone recommend any particular universities without the high price tag?

I'm pretty sure many med schools in latin america are <10k/year.
Colombia is known for producing good physicians (if not: brazil and chile (but forget the other south american countries IMO)). Those I knew are no joke (Colombia).

I hope you are aware they don't offer the US track. And the curriculum is a minimum of 6 years...and clinicals are of course NOT in the US....

Not to mention the students come directly from the high school. They are 16 or 17 yo. Some of them don't even know what is a molecule. So it may be a long and boring road.

Oh...I know some very brilliant physicians in South America: they would give all what they have to practice in the US or Canada.

    That's fine. I'm not from the U.S..
So Colombia is the best, I'll take that into account.
You also said the other South American countries are not good, could you explain that further?

Well, south american physicians who come OR have clinical experience in the following countries, only, bring a little aura with them: Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, Cuba (but as for Cuba, I think there's also a part of propaganda behind it).
I've never heard of other latin american countries as a "reference" of quality.
Ecuador is extremely bad. I think Bolivia is not better. Nothing special about Peru. Not sure about Venezuela, but I've never heard nothing special coming from there. And as for central America up to the north, only Mexico is on the map.

Out of the american and USMLE track, I'd go for Colombia straight away.
But others may have a different opinion.
