Allergy Skin Test

The detection of suspected allergy-causing substances (allergens) by introducing a microscopic amount of an allergen (eg, pollen, mold, dust mites, animal dander, and foods) to the patient's skin (usually the forearm or the back) by various means (eg, Skin prick test, Skin scratch test, Skin scrape test, Skin patch test, Intradermic test) and then observing for signs of an allergic reaction.
