I'm looking at a few Caribbean schools or just staying statside and trying for DO but can any current students comment on their experience with MUA and if it is a good school?

    Current students please thank you.

lol, does anybody even go to MUA?

To be more specific, I need the following answers...

    1. How big is your class size
    2. What is your class attrition rate (how many people from each term/semester move on to the next.)
    3. Do you take a comprehensive shelf?
    4. If you do, what % of your class passed?
    5. Is it easy to get clinical spots for third year or do you have gaps.
    6. Any idea what % of graduating class graduated in four years only

That's asking a lot but somebody has to know.

    Thanks

I don't have personal experience with MUA but I know one girl from high school who went to MUA and managed to secure a residency in family medicine in Florida afterwards. General consensus when applying to the Caribbean is to stick to the Big 4 schools.

I finished at MUA. I'm an attending now. Overall I had a positive experience but any medical school you choose will be a hard long road. that is the nature of medical education.

What year did you graduate from MUA?

Do you know how many of your first year class secured a residency after four years?

I'm hearing that it is even harder now at the Big 4 these days. MUA is less money so I wanted to get some more info on the program and see if it is worth it.

I finished in 2011 and started residency then a few months after finishing. of my graduating class about 70-80% seem to get into residency 1-2 years post graduation. Maybe 30-40% did not finish at all or transferred out when looking at those that started. some people ran into financial issues and that caused them issues because of the economic downturn that happened and some lenders were not continuing to fund people.

The numbers I am mentioning is based on me keeping in touch with people. There are a few that I wasn't that close with and I didn't hear if they matched or not. It was rare for someone not to match.
