    You should try swimming...it's a really good low-impact cardio workout that burns a lot of calories and works many of the major muscle groups. Some people try to lose their extra pounds by running, but find it too difficult and find their weight too painful on their joints. Swimming is a good way to start on your way towards becoming thin...just avoid eating a big meal afterwards because it really works up an appetite.

    I second that! I swam competitively for many years (big surprise?) and I was in the best shape of my life. My mom also had weight issues and when I finally convinced her to try swimming along with her new diet, she dropped the extra weight quickly.
