Just Wrote Step 1... Now What?

    Hey VMD,

    First time poster here.
I took my Step 1 last week and currently am awaiting my results.
In the meantime, what should I be doing?

I emailed the Monee office, and still have yet to get a response.
There isn't any general information on the Windsor website either.

I am looking forward to starting/finishing my rotations ASAP.
If anyone could point me in the right direction, I would be really grateful.
(I do not use Social media, and I am unable to get in touch with my buddies.)

And lastly, does anyone have any info on how I can set up my own rotations? (both Core/Electives)

    Thank You,
    Somatostatin

Hey I'll make this short right now as I have to get to work. Firstly, you'll get your score back the third or fourth Wednesday after you took the test. Use those few weeks to make sure all your paperwork is in and ready to go. Once you get your score, email the PDF to Monee (used to be Britney, not sure if it's still her). Not much else to do until your get your scores back, unfortunately. Where you want to go (Chicago, Atlanta, Virginia, Texas) and with what agency you use really dictates how your rotations are timed. I went through MHC for all rotations and did half in Chicago and the other half in Virginia. Chicago consistently had 3 week waits between their rotations, for whatever reason. In Virginia I cranked them all out back to back.

If you wanted to set your own rotations up, you need to find a place to do it and they need to sign a contract with Windsor. Most places aren't willing to do that. And I've heard Windsor isn't the most conducive when playing with others (as I'm sure you can imagine). So if you've got a hospital willing to sign, I'd do some groundwork and get things in motion. I know people who have tried and failed, but hey- you've got three weeks with nothing else to do. So try.

so if one person wanted to do a roation at XYZ Hospital, they have to sign a contract with Windsor saying what? that XYZ has to let windsor send other students as well?

basically, what does the contract entail? that it's greenbook?

Hey do any of you guys have any information about clinical sites besides the ones in chicago and texas being available? Do they still offer rotations in virginia or atlanta?

Psych available in Atlanta. But rotations mainly in Illinois and Texas at the moment, and the Island-SKN or Jamaica.

why even keep atlanta an option for students if only for one rotation?
